لِمَنfor whom ياO أَيُّهاyou (addressed) المَغرورُthe deluded one تَحويyou amass
مِنَof المالِwealth المُوَفَّرِabundant وَالأَثاثِand furnishings
For whom, O deluded one, do you amass
For whom, O deluded one, do you hoard
abundant wealth and furnishings?
All this abundant wealth and furniture?
سَتَمضيyou will depart غَيرَnot مَحمودٍpraised فَريداًalone
وَيَخلوand will be alone بَعلُhusband عِرسِكَyour wife بِالتُراثِwith the inheritance
You will depart alone, unpraised,
Alone you shall pass away, unpraised
and your wife's husband will have the inheritance to himself.
While your wedding's master claims your heritage
وَيَخذُلُكَand will forsake you الوَصِيُّthe executor بِلاwithout وَفاءٍloyalty
وَلاnor إِصلاحِputting right أَمرٍan affair ذيhaving اِلتِياثِentanglement
And the executor will forsake you, without loyalty
Betrayed, forsaken by your faithless trustee
or putting right any tangled affair.
No order left for one of your descendants
لَقَدindeed وَفَّرتَyou amassed وِزراًa burden of sin مَرَّpassed حيناًfor a time
يَسُدُّblocks عَلَيكَfor you سُبلَpaths الاِنبِعاثِresurrection
Indeed, you have amassed a burden that passed for a time,
Indeed you have stored a burden, bitter once
blocking your paths to resurrection.
Blocking the roads to your resurrection
فَماso there is no لَكَfor you غَيرَexcept تَقوىfear of اللَهِGod حِرزٌprotection
وَلاnor وزرٌrefuge وَماand there is no لَكَfor you مِنany غِياثِsuccor
So you have no protection except fear of God,
Naught have you save piety as a defense
nor refuge, and you have no succor.
No aid, no succor shall come to your relief
