Blessed is the Possessor of exaltation and majesty.

He stands alone in glory and everlastingness.

And He has made death equal among all creation.

And all of them are hostages to perishing.

And our world—though we incline toward it,

And enjoyment in it lasts long—must come to an end.

    Know that relying, while deluded,

On the abode of perishing is itself perishing.

And its dweller is swift to depart from it,

Even if he is eager to remain.
