إِغنَbe free of need عَنِof المَخلوقِthe created being بِالخالِقِthrough the Creator
تَسُدُّyou will prevail عَلىover الكاذِبِthe liar وَالصادِقِand the truth-teller
Find sufficiency in the Creator, not in creatures.
Turn away from the creation to the Creator
You will prevail over liar and truth-teller alike.
Both truths and lies are closed to the liar
وَاِستَرزِقِand seek provision الرَحمَنَthe Most Merciful مِنfrom فَضلِهِHis bounty
فَلَيسَfor there is not غَيرother than اللَهِGod مِنany رازِقِprovider
And ask the Most Merciful for sustenance from His bounty.
And seek your provision from the Merciful out of His bounty
For there is no provider other than God.
For none but Allah provides the provision
مَنwhoever ظَنَّthinks أَنَّthat الناسَpeople يغنونَهُmake him self-sufficient
فَلَيسَthen he is not بِالرَحمَنِto the Most Merciful بِالرائِقِpleasing
Whoever thinks that people can make him self-sufficient
Whoever thinks people will suffice him
Is not pleasing to the Most Merciful.
Has no consciousness of the Merciful, the Observant
أَوor ظَنَّthinks أَنَّthat المالَwealth مِنfrom كَسبِهِhis earnings

Or thinks that wealth comes from his own earnings—
Or thinks his money is from his own earning
His two sandals slip, carrying him down from a lofty peak.
Slips have both his sandals from the cobbler
