وَكُنand be بَشّاًcheerful كَريماًgenerous ذاpossessing اِنبِساطٍopenness
وَكُن بَشّاً كَريماً ذا اِنبِساطٍ
وَفيمَنand toward whoever يَرتَجيكَplaces hope in you جَميلَkind رَأيِregard
وَفيمَن يَرتَجيكَ جَميلَ رَأيِ
And be cheerful, generous, and open in manner,
Be generous and noble with an open heart
and kindly disposed toward whoever places hope in you;
And give wise counsel to those who seek you
بَعيداًfar removed عَنfrom سَماعِlistening to الشَرِّevil سَمحاًopenhanded
بَعيداً عَن سَماعِ الشَرِّ سَمحاً
نَقِيَّpure الكَفِّthe hand عَنfrom عَيبٍfault وَثَأيِand harm
نَقِيَّ الكَفِّ عَن عَيبٍ وَثَأيِ
far from listening to evil, and openhanded,
Stay far from hearing evil, be forgiving
clean-handed, free of fault and harm;
With hands pure of fault and blame
مُعيناًa helper لِلأَرامِلِto widows وَاليَتامىand orphans
مُعيناً لِلأَرامِلِ وَاليَتامى
أَمينَtrustworthy الجَيبِthe bosom عَنat قُربٍnearness وَنَأيِand distance
أَمينَ الجَيبِ عَن قُربٍ وَنَأيِ
a helper to widows and orphans,
Helper of widows and orphans
trustworthy at heart, whether near or far;
Trustworthy with money, aloof from greed
وَصولاًdevoted to keeping ties غَيرَnot مُحتَشِمٍbashful زَكِيّاًpure
وَصولاً غَيرَ مُحتَشِمٍ زَكِيّاً
حَميدَpraiseworthy السَعيِeffort فيin إِنجازِfulfilling وَأيِa promise
حَميدَ السَعيِ في إِنجازِ وَأيِ
devoted to keeping ties, unreserved and pure,
Visit often, with modesty, be righteous
praiseworthy in striving to fulfill a promise.
Your efforts praised, fulfilling hope
تَلَقَّreceive مَواعِظيmy admonitions بِقبولِwith acceptance صِدقٍsincerity
تَلَقَّ مَواعِظي بِقبولِ صِدقٍ
تَفُزyou will succeed بِالأَمنِwith safety عِندَwhen حُلولِthe arrival of لَأيِhardship
تَفُز بِالأَمنِ عِندَ حُلولِ لَأيِ
Receive my admonitions with sincere acceptance;
Accept my advice with sincere reception
you will gain safety when hardship arrives.
