محببٌ في أهله حليم
Indeed, my little son is of noble lineage and generous.
The sons of Ma'ruq are generous,
Beloved among his kin and forbearing.
Beloved among their people, forbearing.
ليسis not بفحاشhabitually foul-mouthed ولاnor لئيمbase
ليس بفحاش ولا لئيم
ولاnor بطخرورa weakling ولاnor سؤومquick to weary
ولا بطخرور ولا سؤوم
He is neither foul-mouthed nor base,
They are neither vulgar nor wicked,
Nor a weakling, nor one who quickly wearies.
Neither raucous nor ill-omened.
صخرSakhr بنيthe sons of فهرٍFihr بهfor him زعيمa guarantor
صخر بني فهرٍ به زعيم
لاdoes not يخلفdisappoint الظنexpectations ولاnor يخيمflinch
لا يخلف الظن ولا يخيم
Sakhr of the sons of Fihr vouches for him.
Rock of the Bani Fahar tribe, they have a leader
He does not disappoint expectations, nor does he flinch.
Who never fails expectation, nor harbors suspicion.
