1. تهللت يا شهر الصيام لنا بشراً

    وأطلعت بدراً حين أتممتها عثْرا

    You beamed with gladness upon us, O month of fasting,

    And you brought forth a full moon when you had completed ten days.

  2. قرنت سعاداً بالسعود لأحمدٍ

    وجئت من الإيناس بالآية الكبرى

    You joined Suad with good fortune for Ahmad,

    And brought the greatest sign of comfort.

  3. سرى في طريق العيد حتى بدا لنا

    بعصر مسراتِ فسبحان من أسرى

    He journeyed by night along the road to Eid until he appeared to us,

    On an afternoon of joys—so glory to Him who carried him by night.

  4. فلا غرو أن نادى الزمان مؤرخاً

    سعاد بدت في يومِ مولدهِ البشرى

    No wonder, then, that Time called out, recording the date:

    “Suad, the glad tidings, appeared on the day of his birth.”
