بنَقْلك يزهو الهناء الجميلْ

وما لك إلاّ المَقامَ الجليلْ

وما لك إلاّ المَقامَ الجليلْ

With your transfer, beautiful joy shines.

Through your transfer, glory and beauty flourish,

And yours is only an exalted station.

You deserve nothing but the highest station,

وما لك إلاّ طريق الترقيّ

وما لك إلاّ طريق الترقيّ

وحزمٌ وعزمٌ ورأيٌ أصيلْ

وحزمٌ وعزمٌ ورأيٌ أصيلْ

And yours is only the path of advancement,

You deserve nothing but the path of ascension,

And prudence, resolve, and sound judgment.

With wisdom, determination, and sound judgement.

وإني أهنيّ وباعي قصير

وإني أهنيّ وباعي قصير

وكلُّ كلامٍ لديَّ قليلْ

وكلُّ كلامٍ لديَّ قليلْ

And indeed I offer congratulations, though my reach is short,

I congratulate, though my words fall short,

And all the words I have are scant.

For all speech from me is little.

فيا بَيْك حفني ويا ناصفاً

فيا بَيْك حفني ويا ناصفاً

ليَ العجز عذرٌ فكيف السبيل

ليَ العجز عذرٌ فكيف السبيل

So, O Hafni Bey, and O Nasif,

O Bayk, embrace me, though I'm undeserving,

My inability is my excuse—so how am I to proceed?

For incapacity is my excuse, what else can I do?

ولكن أنَبْتُ لسانَ المعالي

ولكن أنَبْتُ لسانَ المعالي

لتلك التهاني لمجدٍ أثيلْ

لتلك التهاني لمجدٍ أثيلْ

But I made the tongue of lofty honors my deputy,

Yet I summoned the tongue of praise,

For those congratulations on a deep-rooted glory.

For those congratulations to enduring glory,

فنادَى وحيَّا وقال يؤرخْ

فنادَى وحيَّا وقال يؤرخْ

بأسيوطَ شرَّفت نعمَ الوكيلْ
