منwho ذاis it that يلومblames المرءa person فيin روعهhis fright
من ذا يلوم المرء في روعه
فالروعfor fright ذهّابsweeps away بعقلthe reason of الرجالْmen
فالروع ذهّاب بعقل الرجالْ
Who would blame a man in his fright?
Who can blame a man for his passion?
For fright sweeps away men's reason.
For passion makes the wisest lose all reason.
كمhow many مستحيلan impossibility ردَّهrendered it جائزاًpossible
كم مستحيل ردَّه جائزاً
وجائزٍand a possibility عادreturned بهwith it كالمحالْlike the impossible
وجائزٍ عاد به كالمحالْ
How many an impossibility it has made possible,
How often the impossible becomes possible,
And how many a possibility it has made seem impossible!
And the possible returns as if impossible.
