ازدانت الدنيا لتأهيلهِ
والكونand the universe أضحىbecame باسمsmiling الثغرِthe mouth
والكون أضحى باسم الثغرِ
The world adorned itself for his wedding,
The world adorned itself for his coronation,
And the universe broke into a smile.
And the universe took on the name of his smile,
وقالتand said العلياءُGlory إذas أرختshe recorded the date
وقالت العلياءُ إذ أرخت
الشمسُthe sun قدindeed زُفتwas led as a bride إلىto البدرِthe full moon
الشمسُ قد زُفت إلى البدرِ
And Glory said as she recorded the date:
The highest said, as the sun set,
The sun has indeed been led as a bride to the full moon.
The sun has been married to the moon.
