قد أتى يومنا وحمَّ الحمامُ

Our day has indeed come, and death is at hand;

Our day has come, and the pigeons have warmed their nests.

So farewell to this life.

Peace be upon this life.

كلّ من عاشِ في الحروبِ طويلاً

كلّ من عاشِ في الحروبِ طويلاً

طائلٌ آخراً إليه الحسامُ

طائلٌ آخراً إليه الحسامُ

Everyone who lives long amid wars

All who have lived long in wars,

Will be reached by the sword in the end.

Their swords will avail them nothing at last.
