لتهْنَ البلادُ وسكانها

لتهْنَ البلادُ وسكانها

وتسحب ذيلِ الهنا والسرورْ

May the land and its inhabitants rejoice,

Let the country and its people rejoice,

and may it trail the hem of bliss and joy;

And happiness and joy spread far and wide.

وترقص أدواحُها بهجةً

وترقص أدواحُها بهجةً

وتسجع فوق الغصونَ الطيورْ

وتسجع فوق الغصونَ الطيورْ

and may its spreading trees dance in delight,

Let happiness make their hearts dance,

and may the birds trill above the boughs;

And birds sing above the flower buds.

ويثني الشمالَ أفانينها

ويثني الشمالَ أفانينها

وتبسم تيهاً ثغورُ الزهورْ

وتبسم تيهاً ثغورُ الزهورْ

and may the north wind bend its branches,

Let the north wind spread its melodies,

and may the flowers’ mouths smile with pride.

And smiles bloom on flowers’ lips.

فقد حقق الله آمالها

فقد حقق الله آمالها

وفاءَ لها بانشراحِ الصدورْ

وفاءَ لها بانشراحِ الصدورْ

For God has fulfilled its hopes,

For God has fulfilled their hopes,

and returned to it with gladness of heart,

Expanding their chests in gratitude and relief.

بمقدم أستاذنا مَن بهِ

بمقدم أستاذنا مَن بهِ

مِن الله نرجو صلاح الأمورْ

مِن الله نرجو صلاح الأمورْ

with the arrival of our teacher, through whom

With the arrival of our professor, who

we hope God will set matters right—

We pray to God will improve all matters,

أبي عمرٍ شمس إشراقنا

أبي عمرٍ شمس إشراقنا

وموئلنا من محالِ الدهورْ

وموئلنا من محالِ الدهورْ

Abu Umar, the sun of our radiance,

Our father Omar, the sun of our dawn,

and our refuge from the wiles of time.

And our refuge throughout the ages.

فقد عمّ أرجاءها بالسنا

فقد عمّ أرجاءها بالسنا

وشرف ابناءها بالحضورْ

وشرف ابناءها بالحضورْ

For he has filled its reaches with radiance,

He has spread goodness all around,

and honored its sons with his presence.

And honored his people by being present.
