Love passionately, O heart, for no blame rests on you.
Worry not, my heart, for you've done no wrong
How much success lies in ardent love and passion!
How often in passion and love is there gain

And has not a graceful maiden called you to ardent love—
Did not the fair Ghada call you to passion?
Slender-waisted, with a swaying figure, full-hipped,
Slender and graceful, a delicate fawn

Wide-eyed, with her cheeks
Bright glances Najla, cheeks like red roses
And mouth abloom with roses and daisies?
Lips sweet as flowers, teeth white as pearls
منwhoever لمnot يرَsee التعذيبthe torment فيهاfor her مربحاًgain
وهدىًand guidance فليسthen there is not لهfor him هدىguidance ورباحُand profit
Whoever does not see torment for her as gain
Who finds not in torment from such lips profit
And guidance—has neither guidance nor profit.
Has neither guidance nor gain but loss
