وشادوا لهم بين الأنامِ معاليا
I saw with my own eyes the handiwork of a people who went before,
With my own eyes I saw a people advance
And built for themselves lofty honors among humankind.
And build for themselves lofty glories amongst mankind
مضواthey passed on وأياديهمand their hands لديناamong us شواهدwitnesses
مضوا وأياديهم لدينا شواهد
بأنّthat لهاthey have فيin الخافقينEast and West أيادياbenefactions
بأنّ لها في الخافقين أياديا
They passed on, and their hands remain among us as witnesses
They passed, their hands leaving clear proofs
That those hands have bestowed favors throughout East and West.
That they had a hand in the pulse of life
