أطيلُ الملال لمن لامني

أطيلُ الملال لمن لامني

وأملأ في الروضِ كأسَ الطلا

I prolong the tedium for whoever has reproached me.

I feel bored for those who blame me

And in the garden I fill the cup with wine.

وأهوى الملاهي وطول الملا

ذ فها أنا منهمك في الملا

And I love diversions and lasting pleasures;

And love amusements and long nights

so here I am, immersed in the throng.
