إن كنتُ فهتُ بشيء

لا ترتضيه السيادهْ

If I have said anything

that Your Lordship does not approve of,

فذاك مني سهوٌ

فذاك مني سهوٌ

والسهوُ للمرء عادهْ

والسهوُ للمرء عادهْ

then that was a lapse on my part,

and lapses are a human habit.
