A gift from a lover who has never turned away

A gift from an ardent lover who never tires

From love, even for a day, because of gossip and hearsay,

Of love's companions though words oft conspire

إلى فريد العصرِ شمس الهدى

إلى فريد العصرِ شمس الهدى

إلى خضيرٍ ذي المقام الجليلْ

إلى خضيرٍ ذي المقام الجليلْ

To the peerless one of the age, the sun of guidance,

To the peerless luminary, sun of guidance

To Khudayr, whose standing is exalted.

To the venerable one, most eminent and wise
