يا مُحكَمِ بنُ طُفَيلٍ قَد أُتيحَ لَكُم
لِلَّهِto God دَرُّbounty (expressing praise) أَبيكُمyour father (plural ‘your’) حَيَّةُserpent الواديthe valley
لِلَّهِ دَرُّ أَبيكُم حَيَّةُ الوادي
O Muhkam son of Tufayl, there has been allotted to you
O Muhaqqaq son of Tufail, an opportunity has been made available to you
—God bless your father!—the serpent of the valley.
For the sake of God, your father's pearls are the serpent of the valley
