سِوىother than ناكَةِfuckers of المِعزىthe goats سُلَيمُSulaym بنُson of أَشجَعِAshjaʿ
سِوى ناكَةِ المِعزى سُلَيمُ بنُ أَشجَعِ
If a band from Maʿadd had witnessed me,
Had I been seen by a hostile party, other than
Other than the goat-fuckers, Sulaym son of Ashjaʿ—
The weeping she-goat and Sulaym son of Ashja`
بَنوsons of عَمِّthe paternal uncle of دارِthe house of الذُلِّhumiliation لُؤماًin baseness وَدِقَّةًand pettiness
بَنو عَمِّ دارِ الذُلِّ لُؤماً وَدِقَّةً
وَأَحلامُand the wits of تَيسٍa he-goat يَمَّمَmade for الدارَthe house أَسفَعِdark-faced
وَأَحلامُ تَيسٍ يَمَّمَ الدارَ أَسفَعِ
Cousins of the house of humiliation in baseness and pettiness,
The sons of my uncle's house abasement and meekness
And their wits those of a dark-faced he-goat that made for the house.
And the dreams of a he-goat that defiled the house with his hooves
