ضَلَّت هُذَيلٌ بِما سالَت وَلَم تُصِبِ
Hudhayl asked God's Messenger for a shameful act.
Huthayl asked the Messenger of Allah an obscene question,
Hudhayl went astray in what it asked for and missed the mark.
Huthayl went astray with what they asked, and did not hit the mark,
سالواthey asked رَسولَهُمُtheir Messenger ماwhat لَيسَis not مُعطِيَهُمgranting them

حَتّى المَماتِ وَكانوا سُبَّةَ العَرَبِ
They asked their Messenger for what he would not grant them
They asked their Messenger what he would not grant them
until death; and they were a disgrace to the Arabs.
Until death, and they were the outcasts of the Arabs,
وَلَنand will not تَرىyou see لِهُذَيلٍof Hudhayl داعِياًa caller أَبَداًever

يَدعو لِمَكرُمَةٍ عَن مَنزِلِ الحَربِ
And you will never see a caller from Hudhayl
And you will never see anyone calling upon Huthayl,
calling to a noble deed away from the battlefield.
Calling for an honor from the abode of war,

Indeed, they desired indecent practices—woe to them—
They certainly wanted indecency and their foolishness,
and to make lawful what was forbidden in the scriptures.
And to make lawful what was forbidden in the books.
