وَاللَهِby God رَبّيmy Lord لاnot نُفارِقُwe part from ماجِداًa noble man
عَفَّpure الخَليقَةِin character ماجِدَnoble الأَجدادِin forebears
By God, my Lord, we shall not forsake a noble man,
Pure in character, noble in ancestry,
مُتَكَرِّماًmagnanimous يَدعوcalling إِلىto رَبِّthe Lord of العُلاthe heights
بَذلَfreely giving النَصيحَةِsincere counsel رافِعَraising الأَعمادِthe pillars
Magnanimous, calling to the Lord of the heights,
Freely giving counsel, raising the pillars,
مِثلَlike الهِلالِthe crescent moon مُبارَكاًblessed ذاpossessed of رَحمَةٍmercy
سَمحَgenerous الخَليقَةِin nature طَيِّبَgood الأَعوادِin stock
Like the crescent moon, blessed, possessed of mercy,
Generous in nature, of good stock.
إِنif تَترُكوهُyou abandon him فَإِنَّthen indeed رَبّيmy Lord قادِرٌable
أَمسىhas come to يَعودُreturn بِفَضلِهِwith his bounty العَوّادِever-recurring
If you abandon him, then surely my Lord is able;
He now returns with his ever-recurring bounty.
وَاللَهِby God رَبّيmy Lord لاnot نُفارِقُwe part from أَمرَهُhis command
ماas long as كانَthere is عَيشٌlife يُرتَجىis hoped for لِمَعادِfor the Return
By God, my Lord, we shall not forsake his command,
So long as life is hoped for at the Return.
لاnot نَبتَغيwe seek رَبّاًa lord سِواهُbesides him ناصِراًa helper
حَتّىuntil تُوافِيَarrives ضَحوَةُthe forenoon الميعادِthe appointed time
We seek no lord besides him as a helper,
Until the forenoon of the appointed day arrives.
