    وَقَد تَجيءُ مَعَ الرُكبانِ أَخبارُ

    Convey to the sons of Amir a far-reaching message from me;

    And news may come with the riders:

    That Suhayl, son of Amr, was the basest of them,

    In times of upheaval, forever urging shameful deeds.

    And his mother, her ears slit, was ruined

    By her love of coupling among the riders, and of disgrace.

    She was of vile birth, with no lineage—

    None in Ma'add, nor any kin by marriage in the tribe.
