Baseness is better than all of Thaqīf

in lineage; whatever a lowborn man does, Thaqīf does too.

And the Sovereign built above them, out of infamies,

a house He set over them, never to be moved.

If they remain, it settles upon their necks

forever; and if they move, it moves with them.

A people who, when a cry rings through their dwellings,

meet it with baseborn, sluggish oafs, unarmed.
