    The vile son of Nabighah claimed that we

    do not shield Muhammad with our ancestral honor.

    مَن يَصطَنِع خَيراً يُثَب وَيُحَمَّدِ

    Our wealth and our lives stand in his defense;

    whoever does good is rewarded and praised.

    True young men, like lions, kindlers of battle:

    whoever meets them on the day of battle flees.

    لا يُقبَلونَ عَلى صَفيرِ المُرعَدِ

    The vile people of the son of Nabighah are abased;

    they do not advance at the thunderer's whistle.

    And your father built them a paltry house,

    of unbelief and baseness—what a wretched ancestral house!
