أَحلامُنا تَزِنُ الجِبالَ رَزانَةً
وَتَزيدُand surpasses جاهِلُناour ignorant man عَلىover الجُهّالِthe ignorant
وَتَزيدُ جاهِلُنا عَلى الجُهّالِ
Our forbearance matches the mountains in gravity.
Our dreams weigh mountains with poise
And our ignorant man surpasses the ignorant.
And our ignorant surpass the foolish
وَيَسودُand holds sway مُقتِرُناour poor man عَلىdespite الإِقلالِpoverty
وَيَسودُ مُقتِرُنا عَلى الإِقلالِ
And our poor man holds sway despite his poverty.
While our destitute overcome scarcity
