Why has the star of lofty glory shone in harmony,

And the stars of glory increased its harmony?

And why do we find joys all-embracing,

And gladness filling the towns and countryside,

And the nightingale of fellowship singing joyfully among us,

And see no burden in the realm of fortune?

This is because the noble-souled, the noblest of souls—

One who needs no clarification or description—

Biraṭw here, the gallant Ibrahim, known

To lofty glory, which has recognized his worth [unclear: taqrīfan],

Has been singled out for honor, and al-Abbas has bestowed upon him

The title Mir-i Miran, as an honor and a kindness.

And fortune's ascendant has arrived to record its date:

"Biraṭwih Pasha rose in glory and honor."
