فاعِلِdoer الخَيرِgood سَوفَwill بِالخَيرِwith good يَجزيbe rewarded
فاعِلِ الخَيرِ سَوفَ بِالخَيرِ يَجزي
وَهوَand it فيin قَبرِهِhis grave يَكونُwill be اَنيسَهhis companion
وَهوَ في قَبرِهِ يَكونُ اَنيسَه
The doer of good will be rewarded with good.
The doer of good, with good shall be requited
And in his grave, it will be his companion.
And in his grave, a companion he'll be.
وَالَّذينَand those who اِتَّقواfeared God لَهُمfor them دَرَجاتٌranks
وَالَّذينَ اِتَّقوا لَهُم دَرَجاتٌ
عالِياتٌlofty تَنَّزَهَتare free عَنof خَسيسِهanything base
عالِياتٌ تَنَّزَهَت عَن خَسيسِه
And those who feared God shall have ranks,
Those mindful of God, exalted degrees await,
Lofty, far removed from anything base.
Above the lowly, removed from meanness.
سَبَقَتهُمpreceded them مِنfrom رَبِّهِمtheir Lord كُلَّevery حُسنىblessing
سَبَقَتهُم مِن رَبِّهِم كُلَّ حُسنى
وَلَظاهاand its blaze لاnot يَسمَعونَthey hear حَسيسِهits faint hiss
وَلَظاها لا يَسمَعونَ حَسيسِه
Every blessing from their Lord has gone before them,
Before them came every goodness from their Lord
And they do not hear the faint hiss of its blaze.
No hissing shall they hear, only sweetness.
وَالَّتيand she who حازَenclosed ذاthis الضَريحِtomb سَناهاher radiance
وَالَّتي حازَ ذا الضَريحِ سَناها
كَمhow many لَهاare hers كاسِمَهاlike her name فِعالَdeeds نَفيسِهprecious
كَم لَها كاسِمَها فِعالَ نَفيسِه
And she whose radiance this tomb has enclosed—
She who lived long years and lies in this tomb
How many deeds are hers, as precious as her name!
Her deeds were noble, matching her name's meaning.
فَدَعاهاso He called her إِلىto الجِوارِnearness لِتَزجزيto be rewarded (probable reading)
فَدَعاها إِلى الجِوارِ لِتَزجزي
مِنهُfrom Him فَضلاًbounty لِحُبِّهاfor her love of تَقديسِهglorifying Him
مِنهُ فَضلاً لِحُبِّها تَقديسِه
So He called her into His presence, to be rewarded
He called her to be near, to bring him joy
With bounty from Him, for her love of glorifying Him.
With grace for her love, sanctifying her being.
وَبِيَومِand on the day of الخَميسِThursday أَولىfirst جَمادىJumada
وَبِيَومِ الخَميسِ أَولى جَمادى
فيin جِوارِthe presence of الرَحمَنِthe Most Merciful وافَتarrived نَفيسِهNafisa
في جِوارِ الرَحمَنِ وافَت نَفيسِه
And on Thursday, in Jumada I,
On Thursday the first of Jumada passed
Nafisa arrived in the presence of the Most Merciful.
To the Merciful's side her soul rose freeing.
