O Abu Mustafa, enjoy yourself, for your fortune is abundant.

And your darkened star has beckoned to you with glory.

And one like you is more deserving of advancement and eminence.

And what discerning person does not appreciate the honor due you?

For your merit is unanimously established among the people.

On that account, the king of the land has raised your standing for you.

I have risen to the rank of pasha, and it is

For a concealed [title?], soon to be unveiled to you.

And who, by my life, does not recognize your worth?

And nothing in the world is sweeter to you than diligence.

You undertook judicial duties and gave them their due.

And you fulfilled them justly and perfected your work.

And you came as our governor—what an office!

For it we had never before found your equals, by your honor.

As for our council, the ornaments turned toward its affairs

And its reform; resolve did not return to your dependents.

And you revived the treasury after its death.

So you became [syntax unclear]; the heirs give thanks for your favors.

And as for the people of the port, their gratitude is enough for you.

And those hopes of theirs watch for your arrival.

And no doubt they spoke, and I attained, and they recorded the date:

You will attain your hopes, Ibrahim, through diligence.
