إِذاif كُنتُI am فيin نِعمَةٍa blessing فَاِرعَهاthen tend it
إِذا كُنتُ في نِعمَةٍ فَاِرعَها
تَرىyou will see فَرعَهاits branch قَدalready نَماhas grown وَاِستَتَمand reached fullness
تَرى فَرعَها قَد نَما وَاِستَتَم
If I enjoy a blessing, then tend it.
When I'm in a blessing, nurture it,
You will see its branch has grown and reached fullness.
You'll see its branches grow and thrive.
وَخَلِّand let الصَلاحَrighteousness لَهاfor it حافِظاًa guardian
وَخَلِّ الصَلاحَ لَها حافِظاً
فَإِنَّfor indeed المَعاصيsins تُزيلُremove النِعَمblessings
فَإِنَّ المَعاصي تُزيلُ النِعَم
And let righteousness be its guardian.
And keep it safe with righteous deeds,
For sins sweep blessings away.
For sins will make all blessings leave.
وَداوَمَand he persevered عَلَيهاin it بِشُكرِby thanking الإِلَهِGod
وَداوَمَ عَلَيها بِشُكرِ الإِلَهِ
فَكَمfor how many مِنof شُكورٍa grateful person بِذَكَthrough that اِغتَنَمgained
فَكَم مِن شُكورٍ بِذَكَ اِغتَنَم
And he persevered in it by giving thanks to God.
And thank your God for it always,
For how many a grateful person has gained through that!
So many who thanked for blessings gained.
وَحاذِرand be vigilant عَلَيهاover it لَئِلّاlest تَزولُit vanish
وَحاذِر عَلَيها لَئِلّا تَزولُ
فَإِنَّfor indeed الإِلَهَGod سَريعُswift in النَقَمretribution
فَإِنَّ الإِلَهَ سَريعُ النَقَم
And watch over it, lest it vanish.
And guard it cautiously lest it's lost,
For God is swift in retribution.
For God is swift in vengeance wrought.
