O writer who has strung pearls in his books,

And whose calculations are among the wonders of art,

And man of refined taste, whose like we have never seen,

With a pure heart untainted by malice:

Rejoice in a year that has come to you,

Blessed, with birds of joy singing in its garden.

It foretells the highest rank you will attain [reading uncertain],

And it is what, by God, has fulfilled my expectation.

And he told me emphatically: Compose a chronogram and say:

A year to bring Bastawros joy, O herald! [Final word uncertain.]
