إِنَّ الوَكيلَ وَلَيسَ يَخفى قَدرُهُ

إِنَّ الوَكيلَ وَلَيسَ يَخفى قَدرُهُ

وَمَقامَهُ الأَسنى وَطيبَ طَوَيتَهُ

وَمَقامَهُ الأَسنى وَطيبَ طَوَيتَهُ

Indeed, the deputy—whose worth is no secret,

Indeed, al-Wakil—whose worth is no secret,

nor his exalted station and the goodness of his heart—

Nor his exalted standing and goodness of heart—

يَرجو التَمَتُّعَ مِن لِقائِكَ بُرهَةً

يَرجو التَمَتُّعَ مِن لِقائِكَ بُرهَةً

فَاِسمَح فَدَيتُكَ مُبادِراً لِإِجابَتَهُ

فَاِسمَح فَدَيتُكَ مُبادِراً لِإِجابَتَهُ

hopes for the pleasure of meeting you a while;

Hopes to enjoy meeting you for a little while;

so be gracious—may I be your ransom—and hasten to answer him.

So consent—may I be your ransom—and hasten to answer him.
