يا حُسنَ حَظِّ الأَرثوذِكسَ وَحِزبَها

يا حُسنَ حَظِّ الأَرثوذِكسَ وَحِزبَها

وَسُعودَ مَدرَسَةٍ لَها وَمَسَرَّةِ

وَسُعودَ مَدرَسَةٍ لَها وَمَسَرَّةِ

Oh, the good fortune of the Orthodox and their community!

Oh fortune of Orthodoxy and its party

And the good fortune and joy of a school of theirs!

And prosperity of a school for it and bliss

فَسَعادَةُ الشَهمِ المُحافِظِ زارَها

فَسَعادَةُ الشَهمِ المُحافِظِ زارَها

بِوَلائِهِ المَحمودِ أَبرَكَ زَورَةِ

بِوَلائِهِ المَحمودِ أَبرَكَ زَورَةِ

For His Excellency, the noble-hearted governor, visited it,

So the courageous minister's happiness visited it

With his praiseworthy goodwill, on a most blessed visit.

With his praised loyalty he blessed an occasion

وَبِنورِهِ قَد أَشرَقَت أَرجاؤُها

وَبِنورِهِ قَد أَشرَقَت أَرجاؤُها

وَتَشَرَّفَت بَينَ المَلا وَالمِلَّةِ

وَتَشَرَّفَت بَينَ المَلا وَالمِلَّةِ

And by his light its precincts shone,

And with his light its corners shone

And it gained honor among the assembly and the congregation.

And it was honored between state and faith

وَالقَومُ مشن فَرَحِ القُدومِ تَسابَقوا

وَالقَومُ مشن فَرَحِ القُدومِ تَسابَقوا

لِيُعَزِّزوا تاريخَ هَذي المِنَّةِ

لِيُعَزِّزوا تاريخَ هَذي المِنَّةِ

And the people, joyful at the arrival, vied with one another,

And the excited people competed

To honor the date of this favor.

To strengthen the history of this favor

هَذا يَقولُ بِما عَلا مِن شَأنِها

هَذا يَقولُ بِما عَلا مِن شَأنِها

وَالآخَرونَ بِفَخرِ تِلكَ النِعمَةِ

وَالآخَرونَ بِفَخرِ تِلكَ النِعمَةِ

This one speaks of how its standing has risen,

This one says with what excels of its status

And the others of the glory of that blessing.

And the others with pride of that blessing

وَالرَأيُ تَمَّ بانَ يَقولُ مُفاخِراً

وَالرَأيُ تَمَّ بانَ يَقولُ مُفاخِراً

وَمُؤَرِّخاً شَرَّفتَها بِزِيارَتي

وَمُؤَرِّخاً شَرَّفتَها بِزِيارَتي

And the decision was made that he should say, proudly,

And the opinion was completed to say boasting

And recording the date: “You honored it with my visit.”

And documenting you have honored it with my visit

فَلنَذكُرَن عَلى المَدى إِحسانُهُ

فَلنَذكُرَن عَلى المَدى إِحسانُهُ

وَلنَشفَعِ الذِكرى بِأَحسَنَ دَعوَةِ

وَلنَشفَعِ الذِكرى بِأَحسَنَ دَعوَةِ

So let us always remember his kindness,

So we will remember forever his kindness

And accompany remembrance with the finest prayer.

And we will plead the memory with the best prayer

فَنَقولُ عَن مَحمود صِدقي دائِماً

فَنَقولُ عَن مَحمود صِدقي دائِماً

تَسمو وَتَبلُغ ما تَشا مِن رتُبَةِ

تَسمو وَتَبلُغ ما تَشا مِن رتُبَةِ

So we always say of Mahmoud Sidqi:

So we say about Mahmoud my eternal sincerity

May you rise and attain whatever rank you wish.
