اِسمُname العَزيزِthe exalted one وَقىmay He protect المُهَيمِنِthe Guardian ذاتهhis person
اِسمُ العَزيزِ وَقى المُهَيمِنِ ذاته
فيin قَلبِهِits heart سِرٌّa secret عَجيبٌwondrous مُستَتِرconcealed
في قَلبِهِ سِرٌّ عَجيبٌ مُستَتِر
The exalted one's name—may the Guardian protect his person—
The name of the Mighty protected the Guardian's essence
Has a wondrous secret concealed at its heart.
A wondrous secret lies hidden in his heart
كَمhow often كُنتَI used to أَتلوهُrecite it وَأَلحَظُand observe أَنَّهُthat he
كَم كُنتَ أَتلوهُ وَأَلحَظُ أَنَّهُ
سَيَكونُhe will become مالِكَruler of مِصرِناour Egypt غَيرَwithout حَزَرِconjecture
سَيَكونُ مالِكَ مِصرِنا غَيرَ حَزَرِ
How often I recited it and perceived that he
How often did I recite it and observe that he
Would become our Egypt's ruler—not merely through conjecture.
Will be Egypt's king, none could have guessed
وَلَقَدand indeed تَحَقَّقَcame true وَالعِنايَةُand Providence لازَمَتstayed beside
وَلَقَد تَحَقَّقَ وَالعِنايَةُ لازَمَت
أَعتابَهُhis thresholds وَاليَمَنُand good fortune أَصبَحَbecame مُستَقرsettled
أَعتابَهُ وَاليَمَنُ أَصبَحَ مُستَقر
And indeed it came true, and Providence attended
And it has been fulfilled, providence accompanied
His thresholds, and good fortune came to rest.
His threshold, good fortune has settled
وَمِنَand among العَجائِبِthe wonders أَنthat أَىunclear as written; possibly “came” تاريخُهُits chronogram
وَمِنَ العَجائِبِ أَن أَى تاريخُهُ
مِنfrom غَيرِother than; excluding واحِدٍone مُثبَتِconfirmed الخَبَرِthe report يُسرِease
مِن غَيرِ واحِدٍ مُثبَتِ الخَبَرِ يُسرِ
And among the wonders is that its chronogram [came?],
And of the wonders is that his history

فَتَراهُthus you see it يَنطِقُspeaking بِالفَخامَةِwith grandeur قائِلاًsaying
فَتَراهُ يَنطِقُ بِالفَخامَةِ قائِلاً
عَبّاسَAbbas سابِعَseventh مَنthose who تَقَلَّدَassumed مُلكُsovereignty of مِصرِEgypt
عَبّاسَ سابِعَ مَن تَقَلَّدَ مُلكُ مِصرِ
Thus you see it speaking with grandeur, saying:
You see him speak with glory, saying
“Abbas, seventh among those who assumed Egypt's sovereignty.”
