بِإِشارَةٍ تَبدو مِنَ الذَوقِ السَليمِ
First, my master may be generous to me
First, my master may bestow upon me
With a gesture that springs from sound taste.
With a gesture of good taste

إِلّا مِنَ الإِعراضِ وَاللَهُ العَظيمِ
Spare me rejection; I fear nothing
Let me be, I'm not afraid
Except rejection—by God Almighty.
Except from turning away, by God the Great

I am his servant, and, as I have learned, all I need
I am his servant, and as I know my adequacy
From him is approval—a great bounty from God.
Is his approval, a great favor from God

As for silence, after that I consider it
A turning back on one's heels—may the Merciful have mercy on us.
A rejection, may The Merciful have mercy on us
لَكِنَّنيbut I أَناI واثِقٌconfident بِسَماحِهِof his generosity

رَغمَ العِداةَ وَكُلُّ شَيطانٍ رَجيمِ
But I myself am confident of his generosity,
But I am confident in his forgiveness
Despite the enemies and every accursed devil.
Despite the enemies and every accursed devil
