وَاللَهُby God ذيpossessing القَدرِmajesty العَظيمِgreat وَمَنand the One who بِهِthrough Him
وَاللَهُ ذي القَدرِ العَظيمِ وَمَن بِهِ
يَنجوescapes المُصَدِّقَthe believer مِنfrom شَفيرِthe brink of الهاوِيَةِthe abyss
يَنجو المُصَدِّقَ مِن شَفيرِ الهاوِيَةِ
By God of great majesty, and by the One through whom
By Allah of great power, He who we believe in
the believer escapes the brink of the abyss.
Saves the faithful from falling into the abyss
ماwhat طابَwas pleasant ليto me فيin العُمرِlife عُدthe count of أَصابِعيmy fingers
ما طابَ لي في العُمرِ عُد أَصابِعي
أَيّامَdays of صَفوٍserenity عَنfrom هُمومٍcares خالِيَةِfree
أَيّامَ صَفوٍ عَن هُمومٍ خالِيَةِ
What I have enjoyed in life can be counted on my fingers:
Never in my life have I lived carefree days
days of serenity, free from cares.
Free of worries, as many as my fingers
