فيin شَهرِthe month of مَولِدِthe birth of طَهَTaha
في شَهرِ مَولِدِ طَهَ
ذاكَthat الحَبيبُthe beloved one المُقَرَّبُthe favored one
ذاكَ الحَبيبُ المُقَرَّبُ
In the month of Taha's birth,
In the month of Taha's birth
That beloved, favored one,
That beloved one brought near
عَلىAli نورٍNur أَتاهُcame to him
عَلى نورٍ أَتاهُ
بِنتُa daughter لِتَسموso she may rise high وَتُنجِبُand bear children
بِنتُ لِتَسمو وَتُنجِبُ
To Ali Nur there came
Upon a light he came to her
A daughter, to rise high and bear children.
So that she may transcend and give birth
وَزَينَباًand Zaynab قَدalready دَعاهاhe named her
وَزَينَباً قَد دَعاها
وَنِعمَand excellent is الاِسمِthe name المُحَبَّبُthe beloved
وَنِعمَ الاِسمِ المُحَبَّبُ
And he has named her Zaynab—
And Zainab he had called her
And what a fine, beloved name!
What a lovely, beloved name
وَأَهلَهاand her family الكُلُّall قالواthey said
وَأَهلَها الكُلُّ قالوا
أَهلاًwelcome وَسَهلاًand be at ease وَمَرحَبُand welcome
أَهلاً وَسَهلاً وَمَرحَبُ
And all her family said:
And all her family said
Welcome, be at ease, and a hearty welcome!
Welcome, greetings, joy to you
أَماas for أَناme قُلتُI said أَرخِrecord the date
أَما أَنا قُلتُ أَرخِ
عَوذَتَwas entrusted for protection بِاللَهِto God زَينَبُZaynab
عَوذَتَ بِاللَهِ زَينَبُ
As for me, I said: 'Record the date:
As for me I said, "Bestow your protection
Zaynab was placed under God's protection.'
O God upon Zainab"
