يا مَن يُسائِل عَن دَواعي أُنسِنا
مُتَجاهِلاًfeigning ignorance سَبَبُthe cause of المَسَرِّةِhappiness وَالصَفاand serenity
مُتَجاهِلاً سَبَبُ المَسَرِّةِ وَالصَفا
O you who ask about the reasons for our joy,
O you who ask about the causes of our intimacy
Feigning ignorance of the cause of happiness and serenity,
Ignoring the source of joy and purity
كَيفَhow السُؤالُthe question وَأَنتَand you أَوَّلُthe first عارِفٍone who knows
كَيفَ السُؤالُ وَأَنتَ أَوَّلُ عارِفٍ
أَرخَrecord the date تَرىyou will see تاجَthe crown of الرُؤسِthe heads شَرَفاin glory
أَرخَ تَرى تاجَ الرُؤسِ شَرَفا
How can you ask, when you are the first to know?
How can you ask when you are the first knower
