A youth of the Turks came to us for company.
A youth of the Turks joined and lodged with us
And, apart from the servants, we were four souls.
And we were, apart from the servants, four souls
وَخِلناand we thought بِهِin him ضيقاًconstriction; unease فَخِفناso we feared اِستِياءَهُhis displeasure
وَلَكِنbut تَلقاناhe received us عَلىwith الرَحبِopenness وَالسِعَهand spaciousness
And we thought he felt cramped, so we feared his displeasure.
We were uneasy with him and feared his displeasure
But he received us with openness and ample room.
But he met us with openness and generosity
