كَأَنَّما الوَجهُ مِن لُجَينِ

كَأَنَّما الوَجهُ مِن لُجَينِ

وَمَبسِمُ الثَغرِ حَقُّ جَوهَرِ

وَمَبسِمُ الثَغرِ حَقُّ جَوهَرِ

It is as though the face were made of silver,

As if her face were made of silver,

And the smiling mouth were a casket of jewels.

And her mouth's smile were genuine pearl -

لِذاكَ قَد صانَهُ بِخَتمِ

لِذاكَ قَد صانَهُ بِخَتمِ

وَطابَعَ الخَتمُ شَمعُ أَحمَرِ

وَطابَعَ الخَتمُ شَمعُ أَحمَرِ

For that reason, he has safeguarded it with a seal,

So has she sealed it with a seal,

And the seal’s imprint is red wax.

Whose seal is finest red musk.
