أَنتَyou نِعمَexcellent is المَتاعُthe delight لوif كنتَyou were تَبقَىyou endure
أَنتَ نِعمَ المَتاعُ لو كنتَ تَبقَى
غيرَexcept أنthat لابقاءَno permanence للانسانِfor humankind
غيرَ أن لابقاءَ للانسانِ
What a fine delight you are, if only you could endure,
You are fine wares if only you stayed
But there is no permanence for humankind.
Yet man has no permanence
ليسَthere is not لكfor you فيماin what عَلمتُهُI have known of it عَيبٌa fault
ليسَ لك فيما عَلمتُهُ عَيبٌ
عابَهُcensured it النَّاسُthe people غيرexcept أَنَّكthat you فانِmortal
عابَهُ النَّاسُ غير أَنَّك فانِ
You have, so far as I know, no fault
I find no fault in what I know of you
That people have censured, except that you are mortal.
