على الحدثان لو يلقون مثلي
When I die, it would gladden the sons of Tamim
If the secret of Banu Tamim were to die
If, despite fate’s vicissitudes, they found my like.
On the two valleys, would they find one like me?
عدوّthe enemy of عدوّهمtheir enemy أبداًforever عدوّيmy enemy

كذلك شكلهم أبداً وشكلي
The enemy of their enemy is forever my enemy.
The enemy of their enemy forever is my enemy
Such, forever, are their nature and mine.
Thus has their image forever been, and thus is mine
