خلت الديار فسدت غير مُسَوَّدِ

خلت الديار فسدت غير مُسَوَّدِ

ومن الشقاء تفَرُّدي بالسودَدِ

The dwellings stood empty, so I became chief without being appointed;

And it is misery that I alone possess lordship.
