وإنِّيand indeed I لَمِنْindeed, to إرْعادِكُمْyour thundering وبُروقِكُمْand your lightning
وإيعادِكُمْand your threats بالقَتْلِto kill صُمٌّdeaf مسامِعيmy ears
And indeed, to your thunder and your lightning,
Though you threaten me with lightning and thunder,
and your threats to kill, my ears are deaf.
And promise me death, I am deaf to your warnings,
وإنيand indeed I دليلٌa guide غيْرُnot مُخْفٍconcealing دَلالتيmy guidance
علىto ألفa thousand بَيْتٍhouseholds جَدُّهُمْtheir good fortune غيرُnot خاشِعِhumbled
And I am a guide, not concealing my guidance,
For I am a guide, my guidance is clear,
to a thousand households whose fortune is unbowed.
To a thousand homes whose lords bow to none.
تَرىyou see البِيضَthe fair women يَرْكُضْنَthey kick المجاَسِدَthe saffron-dyed robes بالضُّحىin the forenoon

You see fair women kicking at their saffron-dyed robes in the forenoon,
You see the white swords flash at dawn,
likewise every broad-armed man drawing a bow.
So too every bared arm of the warrior.
علَىfor أيِّwhat شَيْءٍreason لاno أبالأَبيكُمُfather for your father
تُشِيرونَyou point نَحْويtoward me كلكمْall of you بالأصابعِwith the fingers
For what reason—may your father have no father—
What care I for your tears,
do you all point toward me with your fingers?
As you point your fingers accusing me.
