من ليلةٍ طوقتْ جيدَ العُلى مننا
Time now unveils a beautiful sight,
The days are turning auspicious and fair
From a night that garlanded glory's neck with blessings.
Since the night adorned the brow of glory with a crown.
إلىto كريمكَyour noble son قدindeed زفَّتْcame as a bride كريمتُهhis noble daughter
إلى كريمكَ قد زفَّتْ كريمتُه
فزفَّتand so she brought in procession الدهرَtime والإِقبالَand prosperity واليمناand good fortune
فزفَّت الدهرَ والإِقبالَ واليمنا
To your noble son his noble daughter has come as a bride,
To your generous self its generous maiden is led -
Bringing Time, prosperity, and good fortune in her bridal train.
So Time and Luck and Blessing are her dower.

Indeed, through them al-Zawra has come to wear
Through you Zorah is clad in robes of joy,
A robe of pride in which she vied with Eden.
Proudly flaunting Aden in its festive gown.

والروضَ خلقاً وأطراف القنا لسنا
O son of those who rival the east wind in generosity,
O scion of sires who vied in bounty's race,
And gardens in character, and spear-tips in eloquence.
In nature's making and wild honey's taste.
