Treachery belonged to it, it did not save the souls of its people
so that her necks might bend to the one appointed over her.
So their necks were twisted to whoever governed over them.

She cries in a voice that shook the earth among mankind;
A lamentation so weak the land nearly overturned.
its weakness grieved them, until the earth's overturning was feared.

And the russet hides of death have not donned it?

God's peace be upon you, as long as the gentle rains
Whose spring the passing winds scattered its clouds.
are milked by an east wind, and their clouds pour.
