Now soothe every adversity,

And the swelling sea of knowledge in alcoves folded away,
Dusty earth; it has silenced the tongues of poetry.
Mute with dust are the tongues of poetry.

A calamity for which lament echoed among
Eulogies echo each other for him,
All who were on land and at sea.

Blanketing all people alike,
So they are equal in the reward for it.
Equal in reward among them.

O sea of generosity, whose deep waters overflowed,
O sea of generosity overflowing rage,
Whom death has brought to the grave!
The dove poured it into the grave.

Can the grave contain you, a mountain of wisdom,
Does the grave constrict the lofty glory,
Whose loftiness the eagle's summit rivaled?
Its heights equaled the eagle's crest?

Depart, then, for this world is not fit
So go, for the world is not worthy,
For one like you among men of glory to dwell in.
Of one like you abode, one of honor.

You encompassed its east and west,
With virtues too great to be counted.
With virtues beyond counting.
