شادَraised علياthe lofty standing of أبيهhis father فوقَabove السماكِal-Simak (the star)
شادَ عليا أبيه فوقَ السماكِ
Tell the mother of eminence: You have borne a noble son,
Who raised his father's lofty standing above al-Simak.
سخطwere incensed الحاسدونَthe envious مذsince قيلit was said أرّخrecord the date
سخط الحاسدونَ مذ قيل أرّخ
ولدbegot المجدglory ياO وفودdelegations رضاكyour Rida
ولد المجد يا وفود رضاك
The envious have been incensed since it was said: Record the date—
Glory has begotten your Rida, O delegations.
