Make the swift young she-camel kneel, O Sa'd,

Where the dwelling's courtyards are pleasant.

And return, bringing her saddlebags back full

With bounty from the refuge of hungry men.

For there is one whose courtyards smile; all-embracing

Are his gifts to those near and far.

There lofty glory unfastened her amulet,

And passed the evening with her braids let down.

Ah, by a bounty that rescued many a child of time,

For whom affliction had set a hunting snare,

Whose praise of a noble giver was unalloyed,

Through whom the path to deliverance was found:

A radiant man who deems praise's mail more ample

Over a noble man's honor than coats of mail.

He rose in eminence to such a height

That he dwelt among its crowning locks and forelocks.

He bought the pearls of praise as their price rose, and cried:

O my wealth, you are of little worth to me!

    ويا عِرضي اقترح شرف القصاص

    And O my possessions, I have squandered your blood in generosity;

And O my honor, demand the glory of retribution.

    وقل يا بدرُ تمُّك لانتقاص

    So say: O sea, your flood is hostage to an ebb;

And say: O full moon, your fullness is destined to wane.

Abandon your claim to glory, for in every glory

Muhammad has the honor of being unrivalled.
