شَرَفُhonor الرِئاسَةِthe presidency ياO مُحَمMuhammad (first part)
شَرَفُ الرِئاسَةِ يا مُحَم
مَدُcompletion of Muhammad زانَهُadorned it شَرَفُhonor النُهىwisdom
مَدُ زانَهُ شَرَفُ النُهى
The honor of the presidency, O Muhammad,
The honor of leadership, O Muhammad
Was adorned by the honor of wisdom.
Its glory extends, the honor of guidance
بُردانِtwo cloaks مِنfrom نَسجِthe weaving of الجَلاmajesty (first part)
بُردانِ مِن نَسجِ الجَلا
لِcompletion of majesty إِلَيهِماto them both الفَخرُpride اِنتَهىreached its culmination
لِ إِلَيهِما الفَخرُ اِنتَهى
Two cloaks woven of majesty,
Two rivers woven of splendor
In which pride reached its utmost height.
To them the pride has ended
جَعَلاthey both made مَقَرَّكَyour abode ياO مُحَمMuhammad (first part)
جَعَلا مَقَرَّكَ يا مُحَم
مَدُcompletion of Muhammad فَوقَabove أَكنافِthe environs of السُهىSuha
مَدُ فَوقَ أَكنافِ السُهى
They set your abode, O Muhammad,
They made your abode, O Muhammad
Above the reaches of Suha.
Above the orbits of loftiness
زانَتكَadorned you أَلقابُtitles الرِجاthe men (first part)
زانَتكَ أَلقابُ الرِجا
لِcompletion of the men العامِلينَthose who work وَزِنتَهاand you adorned them
لِ العامِلينَ وَزِنتَها
You were adorned with the titles of men
Your glory, titles of men
Of action—and you adorned those titles.
For the workers and their weight
أُمنِيَّةٌa wish قَدalready نالَهاattained it
أُمنِيَّةٌ قَد نالَها
أَمَلُhope الخُلودِimmortality وَنِلتَهاand you attained it
أَمَلُ الخُلودِ وَنِلتَها
A wish already attained
A wish has been attained
By the hope of immortality—and attained by you.
The hope of eternity and you attained it
فَاِسلُكso follow سَبيلَكَyour path فيin الجِهاstriving (first part)
فَاِسلُك سَبيلَكَ في الجِها
دِcompletion of striving مُوَفَّقاًgranted success وَمُنَزَّهاand free from blemish
دِ مُوَفَّقاً وَمُنَزَّها
So follow your path in striving,
So take your path in battle
Granted success and free from blemish.
Successful and purified
وَاحفَظand safeguard لِمِصرَfor Egypt حُقوقَrights مِصEgypt (first part)
وَاحفَظ لِمِصرَ حُقوقَ مِص
رَcompletion of Egypt فَأَنتَfor you فيin الجُلّىthe gravest ordeal لَهاfor her
رَ فَأَنتَ في الجُلّى لَها
And safeguard for Egypt the rights of Egypt,
And keep Egypt's rights for Egypt
For in the gravest ordeal, you stand for her.
For you are, in the glory, hers
