ياO كاسِيَwearer of الخُلُقِthe character الرَضِيِّgracious وَصاحِبَand possessor of الthe
يا كاسِيَ الخُلُقِ الرَضِيِّ وَصاحِبَ ال
أَدَبِrefined manners السَرِيِّnoble وَياand O فَتىyoung man الفِتيانِthe young men
أَدَبِ السَرِيِّ وَيا فَتى الفِتيانِ
O wearer of gracious character and possessor of the
O you of pleasing character and secret etiquette
noble manners, O finest of young men!
And O youth of youths
إِنif رَشَّحوكَthey nominate you فَأَنتَthen you are مِنfrom بَيتٍa house رَمىshot
إِن رَشَّحوكَ فَأَنتَ مِن بَيتٍ رَمى
بِسِهامِهِwith its arrows عَنin defense of حَوزَةِthe domain of الأَوطانِthe homelands
بِسِهامِهِ عَن حَوزَةِ الأَوطانِ
If they nominate you, you are from a house that shot
If they nominated you, you are from a house that
its arrows in defense of the homelands.
Shot its arrows beyond the realm of nations
زَكّاكَvouched for you إِقدامٌcourage وَرَأيٌand judgment شاهِدٌbearing witness
زَكّاكَ إِقدامٌ وَرَأيٌ شاهِدٌ
وَنَقِيُّand pure إيمانٍfaith وَحُسنُand beauty of بَيانِexpression
وَنَقِيُّ إيمانٍ وَحُسنُ بَيانِ
Courage has vouched for you, and judgment that bears witness,
Your resolve and perceptive mind commend you
and pure faith and eloquence of speech.
As does the purity of your faith and eloquence
لَوif كُنتَyou were بَينَamong الناخِبينَthe voters لَأَدرَكواthey would surely perceive
لَو كُنتَ بَينَ الناخِبينَ لَأَدرَكوا
ماwhat فيكَwithin you ياO حِفنِيُّHifni مِنof رِضوانِgoodwill
ما فيكَ يا حِفنِيُّ مِن رِضوانِ
Were you among the voters, they would surely perceive
If you were among the electors, they would recognize
the goodwill within you, O Hifni.
What felicity you possess, my dear Hifni
