أَهلَO people of الصَحافَةِthe press لاdo not تَضِلّواgo astray بَعدَهُafter him
أَهلَ الصَحافَةِ لا تَضِلّوا بَعدَهُ
فَسَماؤُكُمfor your sky قَدindeed زانَهاadorned it المِصباحُthe lamp
فَسَماؤُكُم قَد زانَها المِصباحُ
O people of the press, do not go astray after him.
O people of journalism, do not go astray
For the lamp has adorned your sky.
For your sky has been adorned by the lamp
الحَقُّtruth فيهِin it زَيتُهُits oil وَفَتيلُهُand its wick
الحَقُّ فيهِ زَيتُهُ وَفَتيلُهُ
صِدقُtruthfulness of الحَديثِspeech وَنورُهُand its light الإِصلاحُreform
صِدقُ الحَديثِ وَنورُهُ الإِصلاحُ
Truth is the oil within it, and its wick
In it is the oil of truth and its wick
Is truthful speech, and its light is reform.
The honesty of speech and its light is reform
